Rui Janarra
HEAD OF DESIGN
Born in Lisbon in the same year the Pink Floyd release their debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. From an early age, Rui has been insatiably inquisitive and passionate about art, music, comics, cinema and anime, roughly in that order.
With this in mind, and convinced that images convey messages, concepts and information powerfully – “a picture is worth a thousand words”, according to the famous Chinese philosopher – this mentality inevitably led me to the world of design.
After graduating in Communication Design, he worked for several agencies in different fields and with a wide range of brands, including Siemens, Bosch, TAP, RTP, Lisbon City Council, Algarve Region of Tourism, Portugal Tourism, Cortefiel Group, Luso-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IEFP, Cofaco Group, Sines and Lisbon Port Administration, SGS. In 1996, he took on a new challenge as a Designer by creating the company IPQuatro Imagem e Publicidade. Rui joined Media Consulting in 2000 as Art Director, a role he now holds at the GCIMEDIA Group.
